Director of Resort Activities Joins the Company

Panama City Beach, Fla. - The Resort Collection of Panama City Beach announced that Nick Bland has joined the company as director of resort activities for Edgewater Beach & Golf Resort. Bland's responsibilities include The Club at Edgewater and the executive par three golf course, health club, pro shop and tennis operations, kids activity programs, as well as staff and retail maintenance and administration.

"We are thrilled to add someone with Nick's background to our team," said Tom Sparks, general manager for The Resort Collection. "His experience will take our resort activities to a new level of excellence."

With approximately 12 years of experience in the hospitality industry, Bland's prior position was with the Burnt Pine Golf Club of Sandestin Golf and Beach Resort in Florida as its assistant golf professional. At the resort, rated as one of Golf Digest's Top 100 Resort Courses, Bland was responsible for all tournament planning and execution of all golf events. Prior to joining Burnt Pine, Bland was the assistant golf professional at Blackstone Golf Course located in Marengo, Ill., and has worked at various golf courses in different capacities throughout Illinois. Bland has been enrolled in the Professional Golf Management program with the PGA of America since 2008. He successfully passed the Player Ability Test on April 24, 2008, and submitted the Level One Work Experience Kit to the PGA for approval on December 13, 2009.
