August 7, 2008
PANAMA CITY BEACH, Fla. --- The Resort Collection of Panama City Beach, a management company which oversees operations of five luxury resorts in the Panama City Beach area, announced the appointment of Michelle Lacewell as the new director of marketing. Lacewell comes to the company directly from the Bay County Chamber of Commerce.
“I am thrilled to have the opportunity of working with the team at The Resort Collection, ” said Lacewell. “The Resort Collection has always been a top-notch organization and I am honored to work hand in hand with them continuing to build on their current reputation. In my capacity as marketing director, I hope to further the brand of the resorts under The Resort Collection name while showcasing the beautiful property as a vacation destination. ”
In her position as the director of marketing, Lacewell is responsible for managing the promotions for all of The Resort Collection properties, handling their marketing plans, creating in-house promotional materials, overseeing communications and special events, creating packages to increase occupancy and working in partnership with their ad agency.
Lacewell joined The Resort Collection with experience in her previous position as vice president of communications for the Bay County Chamber of Commerce where she showcased the local area from an economic perspective. Working with the Chamber, Lacewell focused on media communications, planned Chamber events, and promoted Bay County for increased business and tourism.
“For the last five years I have worked to support tourism in Bay County from the economic development vantage point. I understand the challenges facing Panama City Beach today as we grow and further develop the destination. Having that understanding allows me a unique perspective on marketing The Resort Collection, ” said Lacewell. “I hope to be able to continue to grow The Resort Collection’s brand, both locally and regionally into the number one resort property on Panama City Beach. With the completion of the new Panama City/Bay County International Airport, I plan to promote our resorts to larger markets both in the U. S. and internationally. ”
Lacewell serves on several community committees with organizations such as the United Way of Northwest Florida, Gulf Coast Marketing and Media Association, Bay County Advocates of the Philharmonic of Northwest Florida, the Junior Service League of Bay County and the Florida Public Relations Association. Lacewell earned a Master of Arts degree in corporate and public communications from Florida State University in 2007. She also holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in public relations from the University of West Florida.
